The Usan development off the coast of Nigeria lies in water depths of 800m and comprises a 44 well system. It is the second deep water offshore development operated by Total in Nigeria, the previous being the Akpo development, one which QAWT was also involved in supplying flowbends to. Production fluids are collected by an Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel designed to process 180,000 barrels per day and store up to 2 million barrels.
QAWT was employed to develop a range of project specific weld procedures, bending procedures, and the turnkey supply of Super Duplex flowbends over the installation period. With strict control and segregation of the Super Duplex materials all fabrication was carried out in our clean conditions facility, ensuring no contamination with any carbon steel.
After fabrication all spools were all protected and packed into bespoke boxes, ready for delivery to our client.
